today we’re doing something pretty different than the usual: taking a BLONDE to BRUNETTE. at the end of this process, she’s going to be a RICH CHOCOLATE BROWN. but before we jump into that, let's reveal the BEFORE photo:
as you may remember from the LAW of COLOR video & blog, we need to RESTORE the pigment in order to a get a rich and vibrant color. we’ll be restoring the UNDER PIGMENT of a LEVEL 10 to a LEVEL 4. that includes everything from yellow, to orange, to red.
let's get started! watch the video, read the blog, and tell us what you think in the comments :)
in order to restore the pigments and make the CHOCOLATE BROWN nice and saturated, we really need to restore the WARMTH in the hair. to do so, we’re using:
this formula will be applied root to end. AFTER we applied the COLOR fully to the head, we allowed it to process for a full 20 minutes before washing it out.
now we’re ready to apply the CHOCOLATE BROWN color to her hair. we’re using 4.35 from the j beverly hills line with 10 vol from ROOTS to END. we left the hair a little damp to ensure that the color absorbs nicely and allowed it to process for a full 20 minutes.
after applying the color, we discovered you can still see BLONDE peeking out of the color. we’ll need to dye it a 3rd time.
this time, we’re going to use a 4n from the j beverly hills line since we’ve already deposited this red pigment in the hair twice. we’re going to start at her regrowth to blend the colors evenly.
again, we allowed the color to process for 20 MINUTES before washing chayla's hair out for the last time. now we've got a rich CHOCOLATE BROWN color. time to style!
we’re going to prep her hair with nvenn’s REPLENISH. this will rejuvenate the hair and help it heal after being processed by dye. next, we used nvenn’s PROTECT to block the heat of the blow dryer from damaging the hair.
last, we’re going to apply nvenn’s FIX flexible holding hairspray to add VOLUME to the hair before we blow dry.
as you can see, the hair is now the GORGEOUS CHOCOLATE BROWN.
tell us what you think in the comments! <3
